The Evolution of a Brand: From Ferrer Estilisme to Ferran Ferrer

- What I like

Brands, like people, evolve over time. They grow, transform, and seek to reflect their essence in the most authentic way possible. Sometimes, change is a strategic necessity; other times, it is a natural consequence of success. And that was precisely what happened with Ferran Ferrer, a branding project I had the privilege of working on when I was still taking my first steps as a freelancer, long before the creation of Dr.Watson.
A Project with a Personal Name
When I met Ferran Ferrer, I encountered an exceptional professional in the world of hairdressing and aesthetics. But beyond his talent with scissors and color, I discovered someone with a clear vision and an impeccable work ethic. Ferran didn’t just transform his clients' looks; he created experiences, moments where each person left his salon feeling better about themselves.
At that time, his business operated under the name Ferrer Estilisme. While the name reflected his activity, it didn’t fully capture Ferran’s essence as a professional and, most importantly, as a person. His reputation was growing, his style was becoming more defined, and his image needed to evolve accordingly.
The Decision to Rebrand: From Ferrer Estilisme to Ferran Ferrer
The name change wasn’t an impulsive decision. Ferran wanted an identity that reflected his approachability, professionalism, and evolution. After several conversations and work sessions, we realized that his best introduction was himself. His name was his brand.
Thus, Ferran Ferrer was born—a more personal and approachable image that perfectly reflected who he is and what he represents. We removed the barriers between the brand and the person, achieving an identity that communicated the essence of his work with clarity and elegance.
The Monochromatic Image: Sobriety and Sophistication
When we thought about the visual design, we knew from the beginning that we needed something timeless. That’s why we opted for a monochromatic identity, where black and white took center stage. We wanted to convey sophistication, professionalism, and minimalism, three values that define Ferran’s style.
Additionally, photography played a key role in the brand. Having high-quality images showcasing Ferran’s best work was essential. We collaborated with image professionals to create sessions that captured his artistry in every cut, color, and style. The result was a series of photographs that not only displayed technical skills but also conveyed sensations and emotions.
The Result: A Brand with Personality
The rebranding of Ferran Ferrer didn’t just give him a new image—it also strengthened his presence in the industry. The brand became a faithful reflection of his talent and working style. And best of all, this project was just the beginning of a lasting collaboration.
Since that first project, Ferran has trusted me to develop other initiatives related to his business. In future posts on ElefantAmbulant, I’ll share more about these projects and how we continue evolving together.
Working on Ferran Ferrer’s identity was an enriching experience. Not only because of the challenge of building a brand that reflected his essence but also because of the opportunity to collaborate with such a talented professional and exceptional person.
Brands evolve, and when they do so with coherence and authenticity, the impact is immediate. At ElefantAmbulant, I continue to support projects that merge strategy and creativity to bring brands to life.
If you have a project in mind or need help defining or redefining your brand identity, I would be happy to assist. A brand’s evolution is a journey, and I’d love to accompany you on yours.
